YouTube Pulls New David Bowie Video

Bowie

Today David Bowie uploaded his latest video promo from his comeback record “The Next Day” to YouTube.  The track of the same name was quickly pulled by YouTube stating the video has breached YouTube’s terms and conditions. I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing the video yet (thank you YouTube), but according to the NME, the video featured actors Marion Cotillard and Gary Oldman and apparently depicts Bowie as a ‘Christlike figure’.

First of all, it looks like it’s going to be a pretty fucking cool video, and second, I can’t speak as someone who has seen the video so I don’t know what else has been depicted, but does Religion really warrant the removal of artistic expression?  Who gives a shit.

Check out YouTube’s Terms of Service yourself and see if there is precedence.

UPDATE

VEVO has allowed Bowie’s video for The Next Day.  Click on the image below see what all this fuss is about.
